HOPELESS PROJECTS
|
||
|
All projects in this category
are sharing one thing in common, they are done in scientific
labs using specialized equipment which is normally not found in the
kitchen. These experiments are either possible because a certain
technology has become very cheap; e.g. oscillators in the GHz range,
Laser Diodes, or i have been able to buy key components as scrap for a
few bugs in the internet (e.g. PMT's).
Not all experiments yielding good results, but it is a big fun to set them up. |

The speed of light
Measuring the
speed of light by measuring the wave length at a given frequency. This
project is finished but the documentation is not yet
completly avaiable.
|
Michelson Interferometer
The intention of this project evaluate the feasibility of wave optics
with a low budget.
|
Cosmic Ray Detector
This project provides an cosmic ray detector which allows to detect the direction of
cosmic rays using quite conventional PMT's. The project is finished but a follow up
experiment using APD's instead of PMT's is in preparation.
